On appointment ICMSA develops a marketing strategy that includes an international marketing plan designed to build awareness of the meeting, exceed delegate targets, and increase stakeholder and sponsorship opportunities.
Where applicable ICMSA staff attend meetings related to the Australian meeting wherever they are held in the world for promotional purposes, delegate boosting and sponsorship engagement.
For the 43rd Committee on Space Research Scientific Assembly 2021 (COSPAR 2021), ICMSA staff and members of the Local Organising Committee attended six meetings in Australia and internationally prior to COSPAR 2021. A highlight was creation of a Back Yard BBQ for all attendees of a related meeting in Pasadena, USA.
In some instances the cost of international marketing can be offset through financial assistance from local convention bureaux. As a member of all major Australian convention bureaux, ICMSA is aware of all funding grants available for these purposes.
